BlackBerry Torch 2 9810 Compared to Torch 9800 On Video Posted: 21 Jul 2011 02:22 AM PDT The next gen upcoming BlackBerry Torch 2 9810 looks almost exactly like the current generation BlackBerry Torch 9800. The thing is RIM has totally revamped the internal guts and specs. While we have seen pictures and video of the 9810 before they more or less look the same. Now TechnoBuffalo has put together a video comparing the two devices. The 9810 is definitely coming to AT&T but this device is still buggy so you cannot compare it easily. On the other hand it is scheduled for release soon yet RIM has not even confirmed its existence… Check out the video below: We also have another non-scientific video comparison done by N4BB comparing the BlackBerry Bold 9900 browser to the iPhone 4 browser. Kind of interesting but not really a clean test. Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video LinkIf you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Giveaway: Go Reader Review and a Chance to Win One of 50 Copies Posted: 20 Jul 2011 03:00 PM PDT Are you a Google Reader user and can’t find the correct app to get your RSS fix? Go Reader does that and more. Go Reader an app from RoblesTech is an RSS reader that syncs your Google Reader with inbox notification integration. App Description and Features: Go Reader is a Google Reader™ client that allows you to read your Google Reader™ subscriptions on your BlackBerry® device everywhere you go. Go Reader always stays fully synchronized to your Google Reader™ account. Reading your Google Reader™ articles on the BlackBerry® has never been so easy.
The app design makes it simple to use and very similar to how Google arranges your feeds. Within the app you can mark all articles on a feed as read or within the feed it allows you to mark individual articles as read. I love sharing interesting news so the best features with this application is the ability to forward links to friends right from your BlackBerry with integration to the e-mail system. It does not allow you to send the body of the article just the subject and link to the article. The application as you can see is packed with features. I am using ta torch on EDGE connection at the moment when you click to mark all items as read it may take sometime on a slow connection but when it is on Wi-Fi or 3G the action is a lot faster. Compared to other applications I have tested the App fares right on spot with them if not better in some areas. This is definitely a good purchase at $2.99 on App world compare to others. To purchase simply visit app world at this link or scan the QR code below. It gets better RoblesTech was nice to reach out to us and wants to share the app with you our readers. Giveaway: By leaving a comment below you will get a chance to win one of 50 copies. Only one comment is allowed per person, if not you simply increase your chances of NOT winning. Comments must be left before Saturday 23rd. Good luck let us know what is your favorite feature when it comes to RSS reader. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

TAT & RIM Explain How Scrapbook PlayBook App Came to Life Posted: 20 Jul 2011 12:48 PM PDT Many BlackBerry users have been waiting to hear more about TAT and what it will bring in terms of features for the regular BlackBerry user. When we first saw the TAT Scrapbook app on the PlayBook we knew they were destined for big things and we really cannot wait for more. The Scrapbook app really shows off the PlayBook so its interesting to see the full story of how the Scrapbook app went from a demo app to a full fledged PlayBook app available to all. You can read the story behind the Scrapbook app on RIM’s blog or pick up the app in App World if you don’t already have it. While I wish we could also have the Quake app RIM was demoing hopefully we will be seeing many more designs and apps coming from TAT. Kudos to them and RIM for the slick Scrapbook app! Updated: BlackBerry Bold 9900 Has Wireless Charging Built In? Posted: 20 Jul 2011 10:43 AM PDT
We knew that RIM was looking into wireless charging but it seems like they were holding back when they announced the BlackBerry Bold 9900 in May. We have been hearing rumors about RIM adding wireless charging but now two sources have confirmed the story. They heard from RIM that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is packing wireless charging inside. We know that RIM is part of the Qi Wireless Consortium which promotes magnetic inductive charging (unlike conductive which has metal exposed) but I have not been able to confirm that it is using inductive charging. From what we are hearing the technology is built into the back cover which connects to the device. There are also two tiny prongs on the bottom of the device possibly for a cradle. I am really excited to see RIM getting in on the forefront of a new technology with wireless charging. This is the kind of engineering that will create buzz sort of like the Palm Touchstone wireless charger. It could also explain why this Bold 9900 is eschewing the faux leather back cover for this new meshed metal design. Originally we were told that the back cover was for NFC communication but it looks like it will be pulling double duty. I am still trying to confirm this rumor but the signs seem to be pointing in this direction… RIM has also been really hush about the Wi-Fi mobile hotspot feature in BlackBerry 7 devices so this could just be another hush feature. Final Fantasy II for BlackBerry is Pure Nostalgia Posted: 20 Jul 2011 09:05 AM PDT We told you when Namco released the first Final Fantasy for BlackBerry near the end of last year which was loads of fun and a flashback to the 1990s. Now they have followed up with Final Fantasy II for BlackBerry and the fun continues. As some reviewers note this version is not as smooth but it is still one of the best RPG games for BlackBerry. I played it on my Torch and it works but I cannot wait to try it on a 9900. You can pick up Final Fantasy II for BlackBerry in App World for $4.99. I just can't get over how many hours I wasted with friends in front of my SNES playing these games way back when… If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

T-Mobile Value Plans Offer Better Rates if You Prepay your Phone Posted: 20 Jul 2011 07:53 AM PDT T-Mobile announced some new Value Plans today for their customers. They will only fully details the plans on July 24th but until then they have given us a taste of what is coming. The idea is that they are offering up cheaper monthly rate plans for users who either pay for their device up front or break up the payments over 20 months with lower interest free payments. This is a model that is used in Europe and other countries but has never really caught on in the US. It is a model that makes sense and will offer plans like unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited data with 2 GB of high-speed data for $49.99 per line for two lines which is not bad. We will definitely be keeping an eye on this. It is great to see T-Mobile still innovating even though their acquisition by AT&T looms in the background. This is one of the main reasons I am afraid the AT&T-Mobile combo will not be good for customers. Full press release below:T-Mobile Unveils Affordable And Worry-Free Unlimited Data Plans New T-Mobile Value plans make the latest 4G smartphones "T-Mobile is committed to making the always-on benefits of smartphones and tablets more accessible and worry-free for all Americans," said John Clelland, senior vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA. "Customers want to enjoy all that the mobile Web has to offer, but they don't want to pay for more than they need or worry about bill shock. Our incredible value comes from the combination of our nationwide 4G network, exceptional device portfolio and affordable plans that offer unlimited data access without overages." With the new Value plans, customers are empowered to purchase any product in For example, T-Mobile's new Value family plan with unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited data with 2 GB of high-speed data is just $49.99 per line for two lines. Even with the addition of purchasing two smartphones, such as the T-Mobile myTouch® 4G Slide, on T-Mobile's Equipment Installment Plan, customers may yield savings of more than $800 annually. * "Families are looking for ways to affordably include mobile data so the kids can communicate via social networking, watch YouTube and surf the Web without parents breaking the bank," said Tole Hart, senior analyst with Yankee Group. "Plans that help them get more while paying less will get a lot of attention." T-Mobile also will offer a robust lineup of mobile broadband service options under both the new Value and Classic plans. For instance, customers could add an overage-free mobile broadband Value plan to their voice service for $19.99 per month with 2 GB of high-speed data for products, including laptop sticks, tablets and the T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot, which allows a family to share their 4G mobile connection with up to five Wi-Fi devices using a single mobile broadband connection. T-Mobile's new Value and Classic plans are expected to be available beginning July 24. In addition to the unlimited Value and Classic plans, T-Mobile also will introduce new Value plans for small business customers this summer with additional details available in the coming weeks. T-Mobile continues to offer no annual contract plans with its Monthly4G plans, as well as Pay As You Go plans for as low as 10 cents per minute for voice calls. More information on T-Mobile's service plans is available at http://www.t-mobile.com. * Based on comparison of $99.98 Unlimited Value — Plus Plan (two lines), with a $15 per month smartphone payment per line, against comparable post-paid family plans for smartphones from Sprint, AT&T and Verizon Wireless; does not include taxes and fees. T-Mobile myTouch® 4G Slide is available for a down payment of $249.99, with 20 additional monthly payments of $15; O.A.C., 0 percent APR. Plan features and limitations may vary among carriers. Data as of July 2011. T-Mobile's HSPA+ 4G network not available everywhere. See coverage details at http://www.t-mobile.com. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

The sound effects are quite funny but you really should just check out the game for yourself.
