Back in February we let you know about the free Solitare Game by Odesys which offers some fun gaming on the go. Now Shumkar let us know that the game has been updated to v2.5 and it now supports OS 7.0 devices including his 9810 and my 9350. It also works nicely on touchscreen devices which is a perk. The game remains totally free though it is ad supported but not in a bad way.
The apps RIM is offering as part of their complimentary gift to make up for their outage now includes Shazam Encore. The app mains purpose is to actually detect and identify songs which I found it to be fairly accurate.
Main features:
• Identify what song is playing (unlimited Tags*)
• Buy the track
• Share Tags by text, email, Twitter or Facebook
• Read track and album reviews
• See what's hot with Shazam's Tag Chart
• Watch YouTube videos
• Search music by artist, track and lyrics
• View lyrics**
• Discover new music using Recommendations
While it is so featured packed, some features such as lyrics are limited to North America only. However, even if your outside the North American region, this is still quite a good app for music lovers.
ToySoft released their latest app this week called VirtualHair. The app lets you simply overlay different hairstyles on your picture offering up 34 different styles for both men and women. You can change the style and move the hair around along with changing the color. Once you are done you can frame the picture and share it over BBM or simply save and email it.
S4BB has released an update to their popular Easy Smiley Pack for BBM this week. The new v2.0 of the app comes with a completely redesigned layout. They have also fixed bugs all around and improved the overall performance. That means you can now use it to send BBM messages with over 630 smileys, flags & ASCII art images. The best part is that the receiver does not have to have the app for them to show up.
Moto X Mayhem is a slick game that has done very well on other platforms. Thanks to the Marmalade SDK support Occamy Games Inc now has it available on the PlayBook. It does not have all the levels but hopefully those are coming. The games release got drowned out by the DevCon news rush but it is definitely worth checking out.
Features include:
Fun rag doll physics.
Working bike shocks.
Accelerometer leaning controls your rider’s position.
Finmouse let us know about their new BlackBerry app Call Reminder Notes. Assign Reminder Note to Contact from Call History
Set Reminder Note display time from 5 sec to End of Call

Create Calendar Events on your default phone Calendar
Edit Phone Book Contact Notes

RIM has announced that they are starting to roll out BBM v6.0.1 today which is a slight upgrade to the official current version 6.0.0.129. This new version has been in the beta zone before since the beginning of last month and includes some small tweaks. It mainly adds a new automated way to search for BBM connected apps in App World along with making it easier to share.
The key changes include:
Explore BBM-connected Apps – BBM users will now be able to pull up "Explore BBM-connected Apps" from a menu in the BBM Contacts screen. This action is designed to automate a BlackBerry App World storefront search for "BBM" by redirecting users to a list of up to 25 of the most popular BBM-connected apps available.
Sharing App content with your BBM Contacts is easier – Many BBM users have told us that they love sharing app content with their BBM friends who use the same app, but they also wanted to share content with their BBM friends who don't have the app. BBM v6.0.1 is designed so that you can now share app-specific content with your BBM contacts regardless of whether your contact has the app installed.
For example, foursquare users may want to share a tip or badge they've recently earned, or Huffington Post users may want to share a breaking news story with their BBM contacts. Your friends or contacts will also be prompted to download the BBM-connected app if they don't have it installed.
Include BBM v5.0 users in application invites – Now you can include even more friends in the fun! You can now invite BBM v5.0 & BBM v6.0 contacts to join in the fun and share BBM-connected app experiences. Your BBM v5.0 contacts will be prompted to download BBM v6.0 in order to access BBM-connected apps. For users new to BBM v6.0 and BBM-connected apps, here's a quick rundown of some benefits to upgrading (make sure to read our BBM 6: Apps Made Social blog post for more information).
Inviting BBM friends to experience your favorite apps
Chatting with BBM contacts from inside BBM-connected apps
Discovering apps and updates through friends by browsing their recent profile updates of their contacts profile
Fuzzies really brings back memories. Anybody else remember playing Lemmings on your old PCs? Well I sure do and Polarbit has done a nice job of bringing that sort of gameplay to the PlayBook with Fuzzies. Fuzzies has you controlling a bunch of monkeys as you guide them through the level to reach the exit. You use the different commands like building a bridge or digging to get past the obstacles. See what I mean in the video below:
This is not the most visually appealing games but Fuzzies definitely is a fun one to play. I just hope Polarbit polishes it up a bit. Until then you can pick up Fuzzies in App World for $2.99.

Marmalade has made a name for itself on the PlayBook with their Marmalade SDK and the games that have been built on it. They also have some of their own apps on App World including two new titles Fish Fillets and Space Tap. Fish Fillets is one of those puzzle games where you need to slide the obstacles out of the way for the two fish to escape. Its actually a bit of a laugh too since they tend to have some interesting humor. The second game is Space Tap where you are the outer space version of an air traffic controller and you need to guide the ships in and out.
The apps RIM is offering as part of their complimentary gift to make up for their outage now includes Bejeweled from EA games. The game is actually quite fun and supports most devices until BlackBerry 7 for some reason. My current Curve 9350 is not supported along with the 9900… Either way if you have an older device (think Torch 9800 and older) with OS 4.5+ you can pick up Bejeweled free in App World.
For some reason EA split the Bejeweled gift into two listings:
