RIM Comitted to Tablet Space – Explains Discontinuation of 16GB Model Posted: 08 Jun 2012 01:56 AM PDT
We told you yesterday that rumors surfaced about RIM discontinuing the 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook in favor of the 32GB and 64GB models. This sort of makes sense and it seems like RIM is fine with that. They confirmed to Engadget that they are no longer making the 16GB model though it will be available through distributors as it lasts. Here is their statement:
That last statement actually makes sense since it offers more value to users. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Scribble Worm Drawing Puzzles For the BlackBerry PlayBook Posted: 07 Jun 2012 01:03 PM PDT
I have been looking for some solid puzzle games for my PlayBook and Yair pointed out Scribble Worm. The relatively new game has you drawing worms with your fingers and navigating them with your finger. You draw a short straight worm to go fast in a line or draw an L shape to turn and avoid red walls. You also bounce off blue walls and slide on gray walls. There are 48 puzzles in total with two player head to head mode to change things up as you race for an apple. Check out a video of the game below or pick up Scribble Worm for $0.99 in App World Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video LinkIf you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Runtastic App Update v3.2.1 Change Log Details Improvements Posted: 07 Jun 2012 10:58 AM PDT
I use Runtastic to track practically all of my runs and I absolutely love the service. They pushed out an update in late May to v3.2.1 but sadly did not include a change log so we didn't mention it. They happened to send out an email to users about the update now and detailed the improvements. They include:
Check out the free and premium versions of Runtastic in App World. If you are not already using it I highly recommend checking it out: If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Uppidy Expands Their Text Message Backup Service to the Enterprise Posted: 07 Jun 2012 08:56 AM PDT We let you know previously about Uppidy's consumer service that allows you to backup and view your SMS messages to their cloud. Now they have expanded their service to enterprises with an eye on company issued mobile devices. They are intending to let companies monitor messages for inappropriate text messages or deleting messages to avoid prosecution. This is something RIM has allowed for through BES for awhile now but without much granularity or search-ability. Uppidy is launching their business platform to address this issue with support for BlackBerry along with iOS and Android. The service is available now as both a hosted SAAS and internally hosted option with licenses for both. Check out Uppidy's website for more info. WordPress Shares Download Stats for Latest PlayBook & Smartphone Releases Posted: 07 Jun 2012 07:50 AM PDT I find it interesting when developers share the download statistics for their apps since it gives us insight that we don't usually get. This time we have Danilo, the lead developer of WordPress for BlackBerry, sharing the download stats for the latest WordPress for BlackBerry v1.6 that was released a week ago. According to their numbers WordPress v1.6 was downloaded 20,417 in one week. He also mentioned that WordPress for the BlackBerry PlayBook (Android Port) has been downloaded 20,000+ since February 2012. If you are one of those 20,000 make sure to thank Danilo for his hard work over at the official WordPress for BlackBerry Blog or @WPBlackBerry If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK & Ripple Emulator Betas Updated Again Posted: 07 Jun 2012 06:55 AM PDT
RIM is coming through on their promise of rolling updates for the BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK and Ripple Emulator betas. They rolled out the first betas of both at BlackBerry 10 Jam in early May and now we have the second release. They are also planning another update in early July. One of my favorite fixes is that you can now sign your application with Web Inspector enabled but just make sure to turn it off before you submit to App World. Check out the full details on the BlackBerry DevBlog or simply download the updates on the BlackBerry HTML5 WebWorks microsite If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
