Scrubly Cleans & Backs Up Your Gmail & Outlook Contacts Posted: 18 Jun 2012 02:52 PM PDT
I have been going through the painful process of merging and cleaning up my contacts from Gmail, two Google Apps accounts, Outlook, and a few other sources. I have managed to get them all into Gmail but it has been a real pain to keep them in sync and merged and disseminated to my BlackBerry and PlayBook. Jason told me to check out Scrubly as a solution for removing duplicate contacts and merging contacts along with backing it up into a central location. I am currently trying out their free plan for up to 250 contacts which seems to work nicely. They have two plans for those serious about cleaning up their contacts. For $19.99 you can do a one time clean up for an unlimited number of contacts. For $39.95/year you get unlimited contacts and unlimited scrubs per year. The BlackBerry 10 Jam World Tour has been making a whirlwind journey around the world. They are about to kick off this week in my hometown of NYC and based on previous events this should be another hit event. RIM was kind enough to send us over some details about the events with both Toronto and NYC starting this week at fully booked events with more than 250 developers at each. They shared some solid stats about the whole roadshow along with quotes from some developers who attended the first events in the North America tour:

Easily Change The Snooze Time From the BlackBerry Reminder Popup! Posted: 18 Jun 2012 05:50 AM PDT I have been looking for a solution for being able to easily change the snooze time for a reminder or alarm on my BlackBerry for years. Somehow Kevin @CrackBerry found about this easter egg hidden in the BlackBerry calendar that allows you to do just this. By entering in a certain code in the calendar options screen you will not have the ability to change the snooze time in 5 minute increments from 1 minute to 60 minutes by scrolling left or right. The best part is that it works in both the Alarm Clock and Calendar reminders. To enable this awesome feature that should be enabled by default simply:
If you ever want to disable this feature just perform the same process again. I am just shocked that RIM does not have this as a menu option even though it seems like it has been there since OS 5.0. I really hope RIM publicizes it more and enables it by default. This is one of those features that I cannot imagine anyone turning off… Kudos to Kevin for figuring it out. PS: Anyone figure out what ACSZ stands for? I feel like we need to start typing in Konami style codes into all the native apps until we find more easter eggs… If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
