VisualDreams Releases Bubble Filler PlayBook Game (Marmalade SDK) Posted: 14 Sep 2011 02:58 PM PDT VisualDreams has pumped out another Marmalade SDK game this week called Bubble Filler. The cross platform game is now available for the BlackBerry PlayBook in App World. The game is quite challenging and is an interesting twist on the classic JezzBall game. You need to fill the screen with bubbles to a certain percentage while avoiding the spikeballs that try to pop your bubbles. Its a pretty fun game but not as graphically intensive as other Marmalade SDK games for the PlayBook. Features include:
You can pick up Bubble Filler in App World for $2.99. Check out a video demo below: Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video LinkIf you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Devs: BlackBerry Advertising SDK Beta for WebWorks Now Available! Posted: 14 Sep 2011 12:40 PM PDT WebWorks developers just got a nice boost from RIM. They have released the BlackBerry Advertising Service SDK for BlackBerry WebWorks in its first public beta today. This beta lets developers easily add advertising to their apps to monetize them. The advertising service requires BlackBerry OS 6.0+ devices to work though it is really easy to add the advertising to your apps. It literally just takes a few lines of code like this: Check out the details in RIM's announcement or register for the Advertising Service here If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

BlackBerry Bold 9790 “Bellagio” Caught in the Wild Again Posted: 14 Sep 2011 11:39 AM PDT The touchscreen BlackBerry Bold 9790 was caught on camera again this week by the Gadzone (Thank Tim for the tip!). This comes after pics we saw earlier this week. Nothing really new is being shone in the pictures other than some serious watermarking but its nice to see the device is floating around. The only question is when it will start rolling out. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

How to Clear the App World 3.0 Cache Data With New Shortcut Posted: 14 Sep 2011 09:15 AM PDT RIM annoyingly changed the shortcut to clear the App World cache on your device when they updated the app to v3.0. Previous versions just had to ALT+RST. One of our tipsters let us know that RIM has updated the official "How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache" knowledge base article with updated instructions for App World 3.0. Want to know how to clear the App World 3.0 on device cache? To clear the App World cache on QWERTY devices hold the ALT key and type RSTRST. Annoying that RIM felt the need to change things right? It gets even better for Storm users according to RIM. For the BlackBerry Storm 9500/9530 the process is still holding the !?123 button until it locks and then typing 34(. For BlackBerry Storm 9520/9550 users you will have to press and hold the !?123 button and type 1?2. Check out the full article here If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

RIM Updating BlackBerry Analytics (Webtrends) Portal Tomorrow Posted: 14 Sep 2011 09:00 AM PDT RIM sent out an email to devs that they are planning on revamping their BlackBerry Analytics portal tomorrow. BlackBerry Analytics is a free app analytics platform for developers powered by Webtrends. The upgrade is set to start at 5PM PT tomorrow (Sept 15th) for a few hours where the portal will be unavailable. After that it will come back with a "fresh new look and feel." The reports, definitions, and SDK have not changed but here are the three main portal changes:
If you use BlackBerry Analytics then make sure to check it out tomorrow night at blackberry.webtrends.com. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

RIM VP of BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software John Vandermay Leaves Posted: 14 Sep 2011 08:44 AM PDT The latest VP to leave RIM is John Vandermay who used to be the Vice President of BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software (BES). According to the Financial Post he is leaving for a Vancouver based mining company to be the VP of product development. While I am sad to see another VP go I am also glad to see that RIM is shaking things up internally with management changes. We have no idea why these VP's are leaving or were forced out but one of the things I have consistently heard from RIM employees is that there was definitely a need for a "change of the guard" with executive management especially ones that were underperforming. It will be interesting to learn if RIM is simply cleaning house or there are other reasons for the exodus. Some of that story will be told tomorrow during RIM's after hours investors call and earnings report. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

eBuddy XMS is Yet Another Cross Platform Messaging Service Posted: 14 Sep 2011 07:08 AM PDT Its starting to get to the point where a new cross platform messaging service comes out every month. Brent Rose @Gizmodo said it best in "we need another messenger app like we need extra nipples" but the apps do tend to be popular. The latest to launch is eBuddy XMS which has pretty much the same features as all the other cross platform messengers and is available for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone though it also has a desktop web client. Its free which is important though personally I am more of a fan of their regular eBuddy IM client. You can check out more about it at www.ebuddyxms.com If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

CT Scans of a BlackBerry? Guess What Model it is! Posted: 14 Sep 2011 06:36 AM PDT I am not sure what possesses people to want to point X-rays at their gadgets but Tamas from BerryBlog.hu decided to do exactly that. It looks like one of his readers sent in CT Scans of his BlackBerry showing the inner guts of the device. Tamas pointed out that it would be fun to see if any sharp eyed readers can identify the BlackBerry in the CT scans. Take your best shot in the comments and I will let you know if you got it right!
