Evernote Beta v3.3.333 Adds Support For Offline Notes Posted: 28 Sep 2011 12:48 AM PDT I have not been using Evernote consistently on my BlackBerry for one main reason. It did not let you take notes when you did not have a network connection. It was an annoying restriction that made taking notes on the NYC subway impossible so I resorted to the native notepad. Adam @CrackBerry noticed that Evernote has put out a new beta of their app that adds offline notes to the BlackBerry smartphone app along with a few other bug fixes. This update lets you now load the app without waiting for a connection and view your notes when your cached notes with no connection. The first connection will sync the majority of the info to your SD card which may take some time the first sync so do it over Wi-Fi. Notes with a * by them are stored locally. Check out the beta v3.3.333 of Evernote on their forums. Hopefully this goes gold soon! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Groovy Notes Tries to Replicate a Diary on Your PlayBook Posted: 27 Sep 2011 12:26 PM PDT
Jen let us know about Groovy Notes which is making some headway as a BlackBerry PlayBook diary throwing in some nice visual flair. It lets you take notes, lists, audio recordings and more in a sort of datebook. They try to do their best to replicate a day planner though it is missing some of the more complex features you would find in a more established app. The Groovy Notes app is available now for the PlayBook in App World for $4.99. Let us know what you think if you pick it up! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

MyCloudMusic Stores Your Tunes in the Cloud With BlackBerry & PlayBook Apps Posted: 27 Sep 2011 10:35 AM PDT
TriPlay has slowly been rolling out their MyCloudMusic service to BlackBerry users with a BlackBerry smartphone app and now a BlackBerry PlayBook app. There are quite a few heavy hitters in the cloud music locker business but its nice to see some competition to Amazon and Google. Still the catch is that MyCloudMusic gives you 2GB of free space for your to store your music after which you can purchase more in 5GB increments for $10 a year which is not prohibitively expensive. You can check out more about the service and try out their 2GB free account and BlackBerry apps below:

Polarbit Brings Four Native SDK Games to the BlackBerry PlayBook Posted: 27 Sep 2011 07:56 AM PDT It caught my attention this morning when a new developer, Polarbit, released four new enticing games this morning. At first I was not sure how these games were developed for the BlackBerry PlayBook but they are obviously built on some sort of cross platform engine like the Marmalade SDK since Polarbit has ported them to many platforms. Polarbit later let us know that these games are Native SDK PlayBook games and they ported their FUSE C++ based engine to the PlayBook for these four games with hopefully more to come. With that said I thought I would introduce you to Polarbits four newly released BlackBerry PlayBook games. All of them are selling for $2.99 each in App World. Sprint Offering Nuance Voicemail Transcription to BlackBerry Users for $1.99/month Posted: 27 Sep 2011 07:06 AM PDT I am a huge fan of voicemail transcription and I think it should be a default feature from all carriers. Sprint is moving in that direction with their Sprint Voicemail-2-Text service powered by Nuance Communications. The service is only for BlackBerry users and has been in testing since at least June of this year. It lets you get your voicemails as either emails or text messages and respond to the messages. Sprint Voicemail-2-Text service for BlackBerry available now to all for $1.99/month after a free 30-day trial which you can pick up at m.getjar.com/mobile/72278/Voicemail2Text. Sprint Voicemail-2-Text is supported on the BlackBerry Bold, Curve, Tour, Style and Touch (I am guessing the 9850) models. Check out the details on Sprint's website or Nuance's press release.
