Harrods UK to Sell The Porsche Design BlackBerry P’9981 for £1,275 Posted: 28 Dec 2011 02:08 AM PST Anybody taking bets on if there will be lines around the door at Harrods to pick up a Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9981 for £1,275 this month? We knew that the device would have a ~$2,000 or so price tag but now it is official. T3 got the news that Harrods is getting the UK exclusive for the device and is selling it without a contract. All in all it differs from the regular 9900 with a forged stainless steel frame and Porsche Design UI. Are you going to pick one up? I sort of have this feeling that I want one but my wife would kill me if I picked one up… Check out our Hands On with the Porsche P'9981 here to see what I mean! Will RIM Integrate NFC Payments With BlackBerry Wallet? Posted: 27 Dec 2011 02:47 PM PST This one has been tickling my fancy since RIM first announced BlackBerry's with NFC support. We know that payments is going to be one of the main game changers for NFC but there have been rumors going both ways as to if RIM would do NFC payments themselves or let carriers run it. I always thought it would be a brilliant way for RIM to make BlackBerry Wallet relevant again. I am not sure what RIM is planning since they seem to be going with carriers in France though they did talk up the MasterCard certification for the Bold and Curve lines. My question to you is what you think would be the best model? Personally I am scared of carriers trying to squeeze another buck out of me with their NFC endeavors. Still they seem to be in the best position to make it happen. Sprint seems to be working on their own while other carriers in the US seem to have teamed up on this ISIS initiative in collaboration. The big question is which solution will prevail and if consumers will win out in the end. What do you think? If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
