AIMP Remote Controls Your PC’s AIMP Music Player from your PlayBook Posted: 06 Mar 2012 02:38 AM PST It has been a long time since I last used AIMP as my PC's MP3 player but I am definitely going to give it another spin now. Project Mayhem Group has released AIMP Remote for the PlayBook which allows you to remotely control your AIMP music player on your PC from your PlayBook. It makes use of a free plugin for AIMP (AIMP Web Control Plugin) to manipulate AIMP through their AIMP Remote PlayBook app. Features include:

ImageAirplay Sends Images from Your PlayBook to an Apple TV Posted: 05 Mar 2012 12:44 PM PST I don't have an Apple TV but this latest app from Mikko Haapoja (Dev of Tweedless & Panoramic) has definitely caught my attention. The app called ImageAirplay promises to let you Airplay images from your PlayBook to your Apple TV and view it on a larger screen. It works with the current 2nd Generation Apple TV (The little black hockey puck one) but does not work with the first generation version. Even better is Mikko's promise to implement Video Airplay on the PlayBook if this ImageAirplay takes off. If you have an Apple TV and a PlayBook definitely give ImagePlay a spin for $2.99 in App World and let us know if it works well! If Mikko gets video working I may just have to pick one up. Dummy Jake Released For The PlayBook With Scoreloop Social Gaming Posted: 05 Mar 2012 08:54 AM PST
Consultora Eudaimonia released what I think is their first PlayBook game called Dummy Jake and the great fall. The game creatively has you controlling a robot who is falling through the air by tilting your PlayBook and catching the power ups while avoiding the bad stuff like asteroids. The game is easy to pick up since it just uses the accelerometer to control Dummy Jake. The English in the game could use some tweaks but it does not hinder the gameplay. They also have Scoreloop integration in the game for social gaming fun! Dummy Jake is available now in App World for $2.99. You can check out an early trailer for the game here: Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video LinkIf you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

T-Mobile US OS 7.1.0.284 for BlackBerry Bold 9900 & Torch 9810 in Beta Zone (Wi-Fi Calling!) Posted: 05 Mar 2012 07:41 AM PST It is unusual for the BlackBerry Beta Zone to beat out OS leaks but OS 7.1.0.284 has just been released by RIM in the Beta Zone. T-Mobile USA just put out an In Market beta of OS 7.1.0.284 for both the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Torch 9810. I always thought that RIM should be doing this way more often and essentially replace leaked OSs with official betas. According to the post in the Beta Zone BlackBerry 7.1 features include:
*Only on 9900 Devices. Currently Disabled by TMO. Keep you posted on availability. You must have backdoor version PCB-39532-006 which contains the NFC antenna to use Tag and other NFC features. The PCB version is printed on the back of the BlackBerry door Check out the beta available in the Beta Zone. Thanks Tashanna and Derek for the tip! RIM Updates App World Device Breakdown Stats (Free & Premium) Posted: 05 Mar 2012 06:54 AM PST We told you last week that RIM slipped in a little stat about the PlayBook making up 22% of paid app downloads in App World. Tim Neil from RIM followed up with us in the comments and confirmed that number and let us know that he has also updated the stats on the App World developers page. It now shows the full breakdown for November 1st, 2011 until February 1st, 2012. Its nice to see OS 4.0 getting negligible though OS 5.0 still accounts for a huge portion of free and paid downloads. RIM needs to find a way to get OS 7.0 devices into those users hands. Still OS 6.0 and 7.0 keep growing compared to RIM's last update at DevCon Americas. Check out the breakdown here. Uber Iris Adds Effects & Filters to Your PlayBook Photos Posted: 05 Mar 2012 05:43 AM PST Dan tipped me off to this XLabz latest PlayBook app called Uber Iris. The new app makes it easy to apply effects and filters to your photos directly from your PlayBook. You can then post them up on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. The UI is one of the better parts of the app with the filters and effects rounding out the picture. It could use some speed optimization for applying the effects but my guess is that is due to it being an AIR app instead of Native. Features include:
You can find Uber Iris in App World for $2.99. Let us know what you think if you pick it up! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
