DICOTA Beautiful Cases for The BlackBerry and PlayBook Posted: 04 May 2011 10:17 AM PDT This year at BlackBerry World we came across some new vendors and we ran into DICOTA who just recently joined the Built for BlackBerry program. Al though they just recently joined the program they have been in the business making cases for smartphones, tablets and gadget friendly carryon's. We were impressed with the unique and stylish designs with multi purpose functionality in mind. The ones that really caught our attention are the PlayBook cases but they also have ones for the BlackBerry smartphone. They have a couple of cases for one is a sleeve case that simply allows you to slip the PlayBook into it for easy portability called TabGuard. The other ones are the convertible cases, one allows you to carry the PlayBook anywhere but once you take it out you can use it to as a stand with 2 different modes, landscape, vertical also allows you to set it as a viewing mode or for typing on a table. The carryon bags have a protective slot to place your BlackBerry PlayBook for the business or if you do a quite a bit of personal travel. The products shown here will be available later this year in the US. An Inside Look at TAT and the Native PlayBook SDK Potential Posted: 04 May 2011 10:11 AM PDT Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video LinkOur buddies over at CrackBerry managed to snag some time earlier with the TAT (The Astonishing Tribe) team to take a look at the process behind their apps. They were showing off the native SDK for the BlackBerry PlayBook and the power it offers developers to easily create graphically appealing apps. All in all it is pretty sweet to see the power behind the platform and its upcoming potential. I have heard that the native SDK is not ready for prime time just yet but we will see it drop in the next month or two. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Corvette Multi Media Head Unit Powered By QNX Posted: 04 May 2011 07:30 AM PDT QNX has been around for quite a while building OS for a large variety of electronic devices from simple to complex systems such as a nuclear power plant. This week here at the BlackBerry world had two cars a Jaguar and a Corvette. QNX powers the multi media head unit on both of these vehicles. We got a chance to sit get a demo from one of the QNX guys on the corvette. The head unit can be used for streaming music from apps like Pandora, check the weather, and when you pair a BlackBerry PlayBook to it can control the AC system on it among other things with a PlayBook app. The car also has a cool looking dashboard that displays quite a few things on it. check out the video below. From what we are told QNX builds the system but car manufacturers usually customize the feel and look they wan for the vehicle. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
