RIM Clarifies Recall of Less than a Thousand PlayBooks – Not a Big Deal? Posted: 15 May 2011 08:36 PM PDT Earlier in the weekend we mentioned some rumblings about RIM recalling about 900 BlackBerry PlayBooks from Staples. RIM reached out to us to let us know about the recall and from what I can tell its not that big of a deal. The OS builds shipped with those devices might not have been able to load correctly and a majority of them had not made it onto shelves yet. Here is RIM's official statement:

UPDATED: RIM and Staples Recall Roughly 900 PlayBooks Posted: 15 May 2011 07:59 AM PDT UPDATE: Check out RIM’s clarification of the issue. It seems like this is an isolated incident. A fault has been found in roughly 900 PlayBooks shipped to Staples retail locations. It is not known exactly what the issue is, but there is a compiled list of all the affected serial numbers and it can be found here.
