Rogers Wireless Training Employees for Bold 9900 Posted: 04 Aug 2011 02:17 PM PDT We already know the pricing but MobileSyrup learned earlier that Rogers Wireless is already training employees for the Blackberry Bold 9900 with OS7. This launch seems like days away. These devices are all scheduled for this summer but the 9900 is coming first and does not have a solid release date yet. Either way at least employees will be prepared. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Rogers Makes BlackBerry Bold 9900 Torch 9860 & 9810 Prices Official Posted: 04 Aug 2011 01:05 PM PDT Rogers just posted up the official pricing for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the BlackBerry Torch 9860 & 9810. The Torch 9860 will be going for $199.99 with a 3 year plan. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be going for $249.99 and the Torch 9810 will be going for $199.99. Not the worst of prices from Rogers but still I can’t get over the 3 year contracts in Canada. Check out the details on Rogers Redboard site. Thanks JD for the tip! Leaked Verizon Doc Shows 4G BlackBerry Curve 9370 Release Date Posted: 04 Aug 2011 11:04 AM PDT This is an odd ball leak… We knew about the BlackBerry Curve 9360 was coming but the 9370 has been pretty much in the dark. These two devices will probably be the 6th and 7th of the 7 devices RIM promised this year since the Curve Touch Orlando and Curve Bellagio 9790 haven’t really been leaking as much or having prerelease devices passed around. The odd thing about this Verizon leak from IGN is that it shows the BlackBerry Curve 9370 as being a 4G BlackBerry. It could be RIM found a way to put LTE in a BlackBerry 7 device but its news to us. It could just be a typo with Verizon’s big push into LTE but only time will tell. You excited? The PlayBook is also on the leaked image but still has a TBD launch date. Thanks to everyone that sent this in! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

BlackBerry 7 Fan Event in Toronto August 3rd, 2011 Posted: 04 Aug 2011 10:40 AM PDT RIM did their best to keep this event under wraps, and they did a fine job. A line wrapped from around the back of the exclusive building, to the side waiting are to get inside to see what OS 7 was all about.

Does This Mutual Fund Manager Know Something Analysts Don’t? Posted: 04 Aug 2011 09:54 AM PDT With all the doom and gloom coming from some financial analysts Gokulesh pointed out an interesting change in the last quarter. The Street is reporting that "The Yacktman Fund’s Donald Yacktman, The the mutual-fund manager with the best record in the past 10 years" has taken out a large stake in RIM during the second quarter. The Yachtman Fund has purchased 1.5 million shares of RIMM stock worth $43.3 million during the second quarter… They have also purchased quite a few shares of other companies that are being hammered on the stock market including Cisco, HP, Microsoft and News Corp. It seems like not everybody is buying the "RIM is in a downward spiral" analyst predictions and betting big on RIM's continued growth! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Rumor: Android App Player "Still Looking to be On Schedule" Posted: 04 Aug 2011 08:12 AM PDT Earlier this week we heard a rumor from Engadget that the Android App Player for the BlackBerry PlayBook might not show its face until "Late Fall" instead of "Late Summer." While we told you to take it with a grain of salt my buddy Kevin @CrackBerry is saying the same thing with confirmation from his sources that things are still on track. We mentioned when the first rumor dropped that this rumor may be talking about the official out of beta release instead of the developer and then public beta release. Kevin is hearing that developers should be getting access to the Android Player in the next two or three weeks setting the stage for an August or early September beta launch. Either way I know quite a few devs that cannot wait to get their hands on the official player. What do you think? If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Shape Services RDM+ Remote Desktop PlayBook App for PC & Mac Posted: 04 Aug 2011 08:05 AM PDT While Shape Services is still waiting for IM+ to be approved for the PlayBook they managed to get one of their other headline applications approved. RDM+ is now available for the PlayBook in App World and allows you to remote desktop into your PC or Mac using the software. I have been using RDM+ on my BlackBerry for a few years now so its nice to see it coming to the PlayBook. The price is also right at $9.99 for RDM+ in App World and it lets you connect to multiple remote computers from the app. Free RDM+ Desktop application should be installed on each computer you want to have access to. You need to install the free RDM+ Desktop app from www.rdmplus.com to make it work and purchase RDM+ for $9.99 in App World. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

RIM Continues Developer Video Series with Damian Keeghan Posted: 04 Aug 2011 07:54 AM PDT Almost exactly a month ago RIM started a new series on YouTube highlighting developers experiences with the BlackBerry platform. I was not sure then if it was a one off or a full series but they have released the second installment in the series this week. The latest highlights Damian Keeghan but this time he is talking about PlayBook development and the web tools provided by RIM. Its interesting stuff but makes me wonder how RIM is selecting these developers. I would be curious to see some of the heavy hitter BlackBerry developers making into these videos. Maybe even throw in a RIM employee or two talking about developing apps for BlackBerry. Desktop Video Link | Mobile Video LinkIf you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

SearchBBM Website & App Want to Help You Find Friends Posted: 04 Aug 2011 06:57 AM PDT Over the years there have been many attempts to create a service to help users find similar minded BBM friends. I have always been holding out hope that RIM would provide such a service themselves but knowing RIM legal I doubt it. Until then the latest attempt to crop up is called SearchBBM which has both a website and BlackBerry smartphone app designed to help you find friends and share your PIN with them to chat. I can kind of see the appeal especially considering how App World reviewers have taken over the review sections of App World to find BBM friends. Check out SearchBBM at www.searchbbm.com or download their app for free in App World. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
