BlackBerry OS 7 Bakes "Add To Existing Contact" Feature into OS Posted: 15 Aug 2011 02:37 PM PDT One of the things I have always wanted RIM to add to the BlackBerry OS has finally been added! Until now you needed to install a third party app if you wanted to easily add an email address or phone number to an existing contact. Well fret no longer. One of our readers pointed out to us that their Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9900 has the ability to add information to an existing contact right in the OS. We confirmed this on a couple of other Rogers 9900s including one of our writers but do not have confirmation from other carrier devices yet so let us know. Either way I am loving how RIM is taking some time to refine the core BlackBerry OS experience in OS 7. To add information to an existing contact you can hover over the contacts email address in the messages application or hover over the phone number in the phone app and hit the menu button and select "Add to Contacts." You will then get a popup asking you if you want to create a new contact or add it to an existing contact. I did not have the Rogers 9900 in front of me to field test it myself but so far it seems to be working! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Angry Farm v1.1.26 Adds OS 7 Support & 80 New Levels Posted: 15 Aug 2011 12:26 PM PDT The popular Angry Farm BlackBerry game just got a nice update to v1.1.26. This new version adds support for the latest BlackBerry OS 7.0 devices including the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, 9810, and 9850/9860. This new version also adds a whopping 80 new levels bringing the app to a total of 200 levels! I have to say that is a pretty impressive update. The game now also plays nice and fast on OS 7.0 devices thanks to the faster processors. You can pick up Angry Farm in the store for $4.99 at this link. If you already own a license you can pick up the update in the store or App World based on where you got it from! NOTE: The developer clearly put in the change log that the new version supports the latest BlackBerry 7 devices but the store is still showing that they are not supported. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

BlackBerry OS 7 Allows Custom Browser Search Engines – BerryReview Search! Posted: 15 Aug 2011 11:14 AM PDT I cannot confirm if this new BlackBerry OS 7 feature will be in all BlackBerry 7 devices but we have received screenshots and confirmation from two users of Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9900s that the feature is there. It lets you change you default search engine in the BlackBerry 7 browser. That means you can change it from Google to whatever you want. The BEST part is that you can even create your own! With a few clicks you can create a quick way to search BerryReview. All you need to do is:
Slick right? Thanks to those of you who provided the screenshots. I really hope this feature is in all builds. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

RIM Leaks AT&T BlackBerry Torch 9810 Release Date of August 21st Posted: 15 Aug 2011 10:20 AM PDT We have not heard any official word from AT&T on the matter other than the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is coming soon. Tim let us know that RIM posted on Twitter that the AT&T BlackBerry Torch 9810 is coming on August 21st. The page they link to on AT&T’s website still shows it as "Coming Soon" but I will take RIM’s word on it.No word on pricing but my guess is $199.99 or $149.99 with a 2 year contract. Hopefully AT&T can get their act together and get the Bold 9900 out soon! If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

RIM Releases Patch for Severe BES Vulnerability – Latest Version Safe Posted: 15 Aug 2011 09:07 AM PDT RIM released a patch for all of the recent versions of BlackBerry Enterprise server. Its good to note that this vulnerability effects most new versions of BES from v5.0.1 to v5.0.3 MR2 though it was fixed in BES v5.0.3 MR3 for both Exchange and Lotus Domino. This is a pretty serious vulnerability that can be exploited by users visiting a website with a malicious TIFF or PNG image file or even an email with such an image. The only workaround disables all images so the patch is really your only bet. Check out more info at RIM's Knowledge Base article on the issue If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

RIM Confirms BlackBerry Curve 9380 & 9790 with UAProf Docs Posted: 15 Aug 2011 05:48 AM PDT One of the things I have always loved about RIM is their super secret (not!) way of leaking device model numbers and specs with UAProf documents. The latest finds by BBNews.pl spotted UAProf documents for the Curve 9380 and what will probably be the Bold 9790. Both of the devices have had quite a few rumors about them and even some leaked pictures but now this more or less confirms the device model numbers. Check out the UAProf Docs below: If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
