Recent Nobex Radio Update Added BBM Integration & Social Listening Posted: 19 Jan 2012 02:59 AM PST We mentioned that Nobex updated their popular and free BlackBerry streaming radio app last week but did not have a change log. Nobex finally got back to us with the details of the update and it turns out they added some nice additions under the hood but also snuck in one slick new feature called "Social Listening" in version 3.3.14. They essentially make use of the new BBM SDK to make Nobex more social. Here is how Nobex describes it:
Pretty cool right? The also included some internal improvements for them to support more stream types in the future along with faster communications, improved UI, and more. All in all a worthy update. You can pick up the latest version of Nobex Radio free in App World. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

AT&T’s Raises Prices on New Data Plans on January 22nd Posted: 18 Jan 2012 02:46 PM PST
Get ready to bend over! January 22nd is when AT&T plans on rolling out new data plans that squeeze customers for more money with small bumps in data caps. AT&T currently charges $15 for 200MB and $25 for 2GB to smartphone users. Starting January 22nd those prices are getting hiked for new customers though current customers are grandfathered in:
That means that AT&T Data Plus customers are now paying another $5 a month for another 100MB and Data Pro customers are paying another $5 for 1GB. Overage for the Data Plus 200MB plans is charged at a ridiculous $20 per 200MB while Data Pro 3GB and 5GB plans charge $10 per extra gigabyte of overages. AT&T has the audacity to say that these new plans "give customers more data and value" and goes on to say that:
Anybody looking forward to what AT&T has in store for us next? First we paid $30 a month for unlimited or 5GB of data and in less than 2 years they have started charging $30 for 3GB. To think what would have happened if AT&T acquired T-Mobile and they had even more of a monopoly. I wonder how long it will take Verizon to raise their prices… The new carrier motto seems to be "Less for more!" We also have some new plans to keep in mind for tablets once RIM releases a 4G PlayBook:

RIM Promises Full Details on BlackBerry 7 Theme Development this Month Posted: 18 Jan 2012 11:30 AM PST
BlackBerry theme developers were twiddling their thumbs for awhile when it came to BlackBerry 7 theme development until they found some temporary yet annoying workarounds. RIM claimed the delay in bringing theme builder support for BlackBerry 7 was due to it being broken by their "Liquid Graphics" implementation and promised a fix sometime around now. Tashanna pointed out to us (via BerryFix) that RIM has confirmed that full details on BlackBerry 7 theme development are coming to the BlackBerry Developers Blog this month. You can check it out for yourself on Twitter from RIM's @BlackBerryDev account in response to @_Lucky45. I guess we keep our eyes pealed on devblog.blackberry.com for an update If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

iTunes Upload Brings Your 7Digital PlayBook Music Purchases to Your PC Posted: 18 Jan 2012 11:20 AM PST
Daniel Bigham has released another one of his popular sync apps for the BlackBerry PlayBook. His latest is a sister app for his iTunes Sync app called iTunes Upload. What it does is upload the music you have purchased on your PlayBook from 7Digital to your PC running iTunes. Currently it only supports Windows PCs unlike the iTunes Sync app which supports both Windows & Mac. You also have to have a little app running on your PC (same app as iTunes Sync) to enable the transfer. If syncing your music purchases back to iTunes is something you have been struggling with check out iTunes Upload for $1.99 in App World. Kudos to kiddo2050 (different Daniel) for pointing it out in the forums. If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:

Free eBuddy Messenger IM Client Ported to BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 Posted: 18 Jan 2012 09:00 AM PST
Handster now has an impressive 815+ Android apps ported to the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 on App World. One of the latest is eBuddy messenger which is a cross platform instant messaging app. It connects to MSN, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook Chat, Yahoo, MySpace, Google Talk, ICQ, AIM, and Hyves through their app. It actually works ok on the PlayBook even through it seems to be a straight port though it does have an annoying bug of not being able to see what you are typing. Either way if you are using the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 beta you will want to check out eBuddy free in App World If you liked this article, you might find these interesting:
